south west of Lambeth
Engine House


Ancillary building to engine house and boiler house. C1851-2
by James Simpson, originally for Lambeth Waterworks Co. Built
of stock brick with stone dressings and slate roof. Gable
ended with stone coping, oculus and metal casement flanked by
round-headed windows. Buttresses. Side elevations have
parapet with machicolations carried round over end bays, which
have round-headed windows 2 stage. 3 further recessed 2 stage
casements. Included for group value.
