House. C15 with front of 1736. Timber framed hall house, red brick front with
parapet partially obscuring hipped plain tiled roof with end gablets; offset end
stack to left, end stacks to right and rear. 2 storeys with brick plat bands
over ground and first floor; 7 bays with 18 pane glazing bar sash windows in flush
frames under gauged heads; first floor window in 6th bay blocked and painted in
imitation of others. Glazed door to right of centre in moulded architrave surround
breaking up over door to form pedestal for vanished statue. Flanking Doric pilasters
with pulvinated frieze above and crowning segmental pediment. Right hand return
front, 2 gables, tile hung to first floor right, casement fenestration.
Interior: Fine Tudor style fireplaces with stone surrounds in ground and first
floor rooms, both rooms panelled. Moulded octagonal Crown post on massive tie beam
to first floor, ceiling frame visible.
