House first phase c1190-1200, with alterations of late C14, C16 crosswing to south
and inserted C17 stack. Timber framed rubblestone and render plinth with brick
underbuilding and rendered infill above, steep plain tiled hipped roof with end
gablets; diagonal stack to right, Originally aisled hall of 2 bays with 2 bay
crosswing to south. 2 storeys, 4 leaded casement windows across first floor,
ground floor window to centre under shallow tile pent roof. Part glazed planked
door to right, further door to left under shallow flat porch hood on brackets. Pent
roof brick addition to left end. Right hand return front: jettied first floor.

Interior features include: aisle posts and arcade plates from earliest phase,
pointed service doorways and exposed framing of C14 alterations. Two very rare
carved capitals survive in upstairs room with foliage carving. Cited as an
outstandingly important early example of framed building in the South of england
by R.T. Mason:" Framed buildings of the Weald." Also "Old Court Cottage, Limpsfield"
an article by R.T. Mason.
