8/77 The Manor House
House. Dated over the door "T.W.R. May 24 1824 CAER YNWCH" by John Perry
of Godalming in picturesque "Tudor" style. Extended to left in early C20.
Coursed, rough dressed sandstone with red brick dressings, plain tiled
roofs mostly obscured by parapets and gable ends, hipped to left. Two
storeys with plinth, diagonal end stack to left and right. Gabled cross
wing to left with corbelled eaves. One 3-light arched metal head
gothic tracery casement window on first floor under gauged brick head and
flat label moulding. Projecting ground floor bay containing similar 3-light
window in front and one 2-light window in each side. Two 2-light casements
in first floor left centre, 3 below with one 3-light casement window in
chamfered surround and under label moulding to each floor of gabled bay to
right. 2 storey gabled porch projecting to right of centre, flanked by
narrow arched lancet windows on each floor. One 3-light mullioned and
transomed window on first floor. Arched door below in quoined and chamfered
surround under flat label hood moulding.
Right hand return front: Angle bay, 2 gabled bays across rear.
