House. Early C16 to south, C18 parallel range to street, both altered and
restored in C19 and C20. Timber framed to south wing, exposed at one end with
red brick infill. Galleted sandstone rubble with brick quoins to ground floor
of street elevation, red and blue brick above with tile hung first floor gable
to right on entrance front. Plain tiled roofs, hipped over rear wing and to
left. 2 parallel ranges with entrance between at right angles to street.
Entrance front: 2 storeys with gabled end of older wing projecting to right.
Ridge stack to rear left. One 3-light casement window to first floor, blocked
window below. Further 3-light casement in left side of wind with single
casement to ground floor left. Oak door to re-entrant angle of wing, under
penticed hood. Street elevation: dropping down to basement, buttressed on left
corner. One leaded casement window to basement, one casement window on each
floor above with gauged brick head and stone keystone. Plat band over ground
floor. Rear wing: 2 framed bays, jettied to east end with dragon beam, now
clad in brick. Interior: Crown-post roof. Evidence to suggest that this section
was the corner crosswing to a whole house extending to the north.
