Public House

House, now public house. Late C15/early C16 cross wing to old hall house
with mid-C16 addition to centre and late C16 cross wing to south (left end)
C19 and C20 extensions to ends. Timber framed with exposed half timber
(C19) across first floor, whitewashed brick below and on extensions.
Imitation framing to front of extensions and tile hung gables in fishscale
patterns to plain tiled roofs hipped to left. Old cross wing of two bays
now to right of centre with two bay range to centre and two bay cross wing
to left end. Further projecting extensions to end form a half H-shape
plan with courtyard to front. Two storeys with projecting extensions at
single storey height. Square front stack to left with valley stack to
right and end stacks to left and right. One four-light leaded casement
window to first floor centre and one three-light window in gable to right.
Two "cross" windows on ground floor to left and right of centre. Door to
right of centre in hipped roof brick porch. Further leaded casement to
first floor of right hand wing. Half glazed door below with three-light
window to end of left hand extension.
Interior: crown post roof to old cross wing on right with substantial
amounts of framing exposed in ground floor rooms, although much restored.
