12/243 Wall from Elm Cottage
to Forge Cottage
Wall. 1772 built by the Bray Estate. Sandstone rubble, part galleted with
brick quoins and brick bonding course to base of rounded coping.
Approximately 12 feet high and extending 70 feet along the side of the road
from Upper Street to Middle Street. Arched well recess to left of centre
containing stone seats dated 1886 with iron guard rail approximately in the
form of growing irises - in Art Nouveau style. Included for Group Value and
contribution to village scene.
