5/31 Polepit Cottage

GV II

House. 1863 in Lovelace style. Flint rubble with brick dressings, some glazed,
colourwashed brick on rear wing. Slate roofs. T shaped plan with gable end to
street. 2 storeys with entrance to right.
Entrance front: Regular facade. 3 casement windows on first floor in glazed red,
yellow/grey brick surrounds, with original glazing bars. Surrounds chamfered with
dentil decoration. Narrower window to centre. Two cambered head ground floor
casements with dentilled hood moulding extending as string course over the ground
floor. Central cambered head door in chamfered 2-step surround.
Street front: Gable with central chimney breast. Two terracotta placques and shields
on stack. Wing to rear.
