House. 1863 by George Devey. Snecked sandstone below with red brick, some blue
brick dripering and brick terracotta tile mosaic to first floor; plain tiled roofs.
Tall proportions. Two storeys with attics in gables, gables on garden front with
rendered edge bands and rounded apex. Tall,star shaped, corbelled stacks to ridges
and on gable end of entrance wing.
Garden Front: Stone dressed windows and stone quoins to angles and plinths. Outer
gabled bays, centre recessed. Gable to left projecting with flat roofed square bay
to front right of centre. Two hipped-roof dormers to centre of roof. Angle bay
under hipped roof with brick dentil eaves to left hand gable bay. 5-light window
on each floor of the bay with arched centre lights, shield over ground floor arch.
5-light mullioned and transomed window to ground floor. Similar angle bay to right
hand gable. Double leaded casement doors in recess to left of centre under pentice
hood.
Entrance front: Main house to right, lower wing projecting to left. 3 gables to
main range, staggered with driper patterned brick work and brick dentil bands.
Irregular C20 fenestration. Columned screen to right taken from a church, door to
left. Curved walls to ends with square end piers under stone urn and sphere finials.
