Remains of polygonal shell keep. Early C12. Flint and chalk rubblestone wall to
south west of tower-keep, one section of a shell keep that encircled the earliest
earth mound. Approximately 6 metres high at highest point with lower, truncated
walls projecting to ends. The wall is part of the scheduled Ancient Monument,
Surrey Monument No. 1.
