5/80 The Brew House

GV II

Brew house, now store. Circa 1700, altered in C19 and C2O. Red/brown brick with
plain tiled roof. Rectangular plan. Two storeys. Main entrance to north end,
with central door flanked by margin lights. Large flat-roofed portico across on
panelled angle piers and two Doric columns with pulvinated frieze and modillioned
cornice above. Right hand return front (west):- Large fixed window to right and
leaded casement with sprung catches to ground floor right. Three-quarter glazed
and panelled door to first floor left. Included for group value.
