Tower. 1839.Bargate stone blocks with ashlar and brick dressings. Octagonal plan.
Three stages with corbel table to base of parapet and stone string course over each
stage. Brick-edged stone-coped buttresses to lower stage alternating with Gothic
arched brick-dressed panels. Irregular slit fenestration above, with lancet
fenestration to upper stage. Guildown Cemetery is the site of a Saxon burial ground.
The tower was built for Charles Booker, three times Mayor of Guildford.
