Building of C16 with alterations. L-shaped with floor levels changing to the
hill slope. 2 storeys and basement, 2 windows in old part with a late C19 left
lean-to and right extension. High pitched roofs, renewed in machine tiles, and
rebuilt chimneys. Roughcast, 1st floor with imitation half timbering. C19 casements,
some with fancy leaded glazing. Modern door hood. Gable-ended wing on front
to Grovehill Road has old compound chimney stack. Inside there are 4 rooms with
good original ceilings, both beams and joists chamfered with stepped or tongued
stops; and a smoke-bay now walled up.
