Coal and Wine tax post. Circa 1861. Made by Henry Grissell. Metal, Circa 4
foot high. Four legged plinth with chamfered pier above. Moulded capital band
and pyramidal top. City of London shield cast on front. Lettering on pier reads
"24 & 25 VICT/CAP 42". Makers name on rear. A Coal and Wine tax post indicating
the boundary at which duty was payable; that on coal dating back to the 1660's.
