Literary Institute formerly a house. C18. Red brick east wall, tiled roof.
Two tall storeys. Ground floor: three recesses, one sash of 18-panes, one of
12-panes. First floor, one recess with on front elevation four sashes over C19
replacements. Plain brick rear extension. Museum is set back from the front
elevation of main building. First and second floors having sash window with
12-panes. Single storey extension in angle. Two storey extension in angle.
Two storey flank wall refaced in brick dating from the time of the extension.
