6/27 Stable block at
Former stable block to country house, now garages. Circa 1873 probably by
Philip Webb. Brick and Bargate stone below, painted weatherboard above, restored
plain-tiled roofs. Half-H shaped plan with wing to rear left, entrance court to
front. Two storeys and attic to centre range, one storey and attics to side ranges.
Brick ridge stack to right of centre, left of centre and on left hand wing. Hip-
roofed dormer with two-light casement fenestration. Irregular casement
fenestration across the first floor including two 3-light windows. Part glazed
sliding doors across ground floor. Hipped roof,on-eaves,louvred dormer to right
hand wing, flat roofed casement dormer in re-entrant angle with main range. Three-
light casement window below to left, narrower 2-light casement to right of centre.
Door to right. Similar arrangement on left hand wing, casement window and door in
gable end. Left hand return front:- corbelled brick dentil band over ground floor.
Hipped roof dormer to centre, gable-lit attic..to left. Door to centre under
pentice extension of main roof.
