8/33 Smokejack Farm House

II

House. C17, extended and restored in C20. Timber framed, clad in colourwashed
render on the ground floor, tile hung above with bands of fishscale pattern.
Frame exposed on left hand return front and to rear, plain tiled roofs with deep
eaves. Long T-shaped plan with three gabled wings at right angles to rear. Two
storeys with tall rendered stack to right of centre and irregular leaded C20
casement-fenestration. Two 3-light windows to first floor left, one small window
under the eaves to left of centre and three 2-light windows to centre, further 4-
light window to right. Three windows to ground floor left and larger casement
doors to right. Pentice porch to ground floor centre in place of door, with
leaded window. Right hand return front:- one dormer window and one window to
ground floor right; frame exposed on wall. Rear:- Large gable to left, two
smaller gables centre and right with irregular, C20,casement fenestration. Door
to ground floor of centre gable and further door in single storey porch extension
to right.
Interior:- Substantial quantities of frame exposed, although some heavily restored,
deep brick fireplace,.
Undergoing restoration at time of resurvey.
