8/83 Village Pump with
3/7/73 Shelter


Pump and shelter. Late C19. Sandstone columns with steep plain tiled roofs.
Square plan, four round, ashlar,columns with moulded plinths and cushion caps,
supporting pitched gabled roof. Arched principal rafters on roof with small King-
posts, chamfered with chamfered arched struts, to each gable. Curved bargeboards
with punched trefoil and quatrefoil motifs. The pump hoist under the canopy is of
cast iron and consists of two standing triangular brackets supporting winding
handle and large 4-spoked wheel.
