Lych Gate. Probably 1859 by Sir Gilbert Scott. Stone plinth walls with timber
upper walls and steeply pitched plain tiled roof. Deep scalloped bargeboards to
gable ends with floral roundels, decoration and roll moulding on edges. Ridge
crest above and small gablet to centre of roof, one on each pitch. Roll
mouldings to edges of cambered tie beams to ends of roof which support braced
King-posts. Half panelled sides divided into 2 bays with pierced upper section
and central floral roundel. Paired 3-panel gates to north end with pierced bottom
rails,iron grille to open panels and carved decoration.
