House. C17, restored in C19 and extended in C20. Timber framed, clad in red and
blue brick below with tile hanging above in bands of fishscale and plain tiling
above, plain-tiled roof. Two storeys and attics in two gables. Entrance front:-
Two gabled ranges, that to left set back, both with coved eaves. One 2-light
leaded attic window to left, 4-light window to right. Three windows across
first floor left, two to right. One 3-light window to ground floor left, 3-light
cambered head window to right. Gabled C20 porch to right of centre, timber
framed on brick plinths with whitewashed rough-cast infill, diamond-pane glazing
above and weatherboard gable. Planked outer door, panelled inner door. Right
hand return front (facing Stane Street to West): two gabled wings, that to right
a C20 copy, both with coved eaves and jettied upper stage on moulded bressumer
and brackets. Further jetty to first floor. One 3-light diamond-pane attic
casement window to each gable. Mullioned and transomed angle bay oriel window
with scroll brackets to first floor, flanked by 3-light, ovolo-mullioned windows.
Angle bay window to each of ground floors in similar mullioned, flanking windows.
Fine doubled diagonal, corbelled stacks on offset plinth to left gable. One 3-
light diamond-pane window in offsets on first, second and ground floors in recessed
range between gables. Rear:- gabled full height square bay break to left with
continuous diamond-pane glazing across first and ground floors. Door to centre.
C17 stacks to right end with hipped roof single storey service range set back to
end.
Interior:- much framing exposed, some restored, with some panelling and ceiling
frames.
