Dawnay Cottage and
Pullen Cottage

II

Pair of bungalows. Probably earlier C19, enlarged and altered. White-painted
brick, red tile roof, brick chimneys. Rectangular plan, originally composed of two
2-unit single-depth dwellings but one unit has been added at the left end (Pullen
Cottage) and a parallel range added to the rear (overlapping at the left end).
Single storey, formerly symmetrical with windows (a) and porches (b) arranged
a-b-a-a-b-a; the gabled porches have 4-centred arched doorways (that on the
left altered as a window) and cusped bargeboards; all the windows are transomed
and of 6 lights with honeycomb leaded glazing. The addition at the left end of
Pullen Cottage has a larger but similar window to the left of a modern door.
The roof has 2 ridge chimneys in line with the porches. Interior not inspected.
