3/56 The Clock House

House, now divided. Late C18 much enlarged in late C19. Colourwashed stucco;
hipped slate roofs, rendered stacks with ornamental cresting 2 storeys, 9 windowed
range to right of glazing bar sashes, centre 5 projecting, and 2 window range to
right set back with plat band over ground floor and dentilled eaves. Late C19
2 window range set back to left end with single storey balustraded quadrant window
in the re-entrant angle formed with the main block. Panelled door in panelled
pier surround under wood traceried fanlight to left of quadrant window, further
2 camber arched range to left of door. Open arched entrance projecting forward
at right angles to the left end forming a court with a square pavilion at the
left end. Arched niche to first floor of pavilion on court side; clock face
above, crowned by square ogee dome and weathervane.
