Number 8 comprises an early C19 front of 1 bay to older building. Stucco with rusticated ground floor treatment, cornice string at 1st floor level. Plain frieze and cornice, forming a parapet, with nipped old tile roof. 1 window with surround of architrave frieze and cornice on 1st floor and one window with half-glazed door to left hand on ground floor.
The Queen's Head comprises an early C19 and later C19 front to a much earlier timber-framed core. 3 storey. Brick string at 2nd floor level. Eaves cornice. Hipped slate roof. 3 windows on 2nd floor. 2 3-light and central single window on 1st floor, 2 windows (poor C19) on ground floor, and central 6-panel door, upper panels, glazed, in surround of panelled pilasters, entablature broken forward over pilasters, and pediments. Small secondary door to right hand.

Nos 1 to 9 (consec) (including No 1A), and Nos 1 to 6 Town Hall Buildings (The Borough), Nos 1 and 77 Castle Street, the listed buildings from Nos 108 to 122 (consec) West Street, all form a group.
