Early C18, altered. 2 storey, basement and attic. Colour-washed brick on
chamfered base. Moulded string at 1st floor level. Wide flat moulded eaves.
Hipped slate roof. The 3 central bays have slight projection. 5 windows, architrave
frames but no glazing bars, on 1st floor. 4 similar windows on ground floor
and 4 basement windows. 6-panel central door, only 4-panel section to open,
the 2 top panels have a fixed hexagonal lamp, in porch of 2 Corinthian columns,
2 wall pilasters, fluted and half-reeded, and entablature with bracketed
cornice. 7 moulded stone steps with wrought iron scroll pattern guard rails,
similar rails across flanking areas. Right hand return front has a large central
arched stair window with radiating head glazing. The side and back elevations
of brick with coved wood cornice. Back in original state with 2 dormers.
Contemporary stair and panelling.

All the listed buildings, with Nos 1 to 9 (consec) Lowndes Buildings,
in Castle Street (West Side) form a group.
