Late C18. 2 storey. Red brick on chamfered plinth. Brick dentil eaves cornice
carried round pediment over 3 centre bays which have slight projection. Old
tile roof. 5 arched windows with radiating glazing, on lst floor. 5 windows,
heavy barred, on ground floor, and 6-panel door, flush type, in left hand
corner in recessed opening with doorcase of narrow pilasters on tall moulded
bases, entablature broken forward over pilasters and pediment. Formerly early
Cl9 lamp above door. In north-west front, fine round-headed entrance, now
blocked; brick pilasters with heavy stone impost blocks; round-headed arch
of rubbed brick above; triple keystone of stone. Square blind panel above
on 1st floor.

All the listed buildings, with Nos 1 to 9 (consec) Lowndes Buildings, in Castle
Street (West Side) form a group.
