Late C18. 2 storey and basement. Fine jointed red brick on projecting plinth.
Painted string at ground floor window head level broken each side of each
window and with 5-centred rubbed brick arch springing from string over window
which is set in slight recess. String over 1st floor windows, and wall carried
up in parapet with stucco coping. Old tile roof. 5 windows on 1st floor,
the central window arched with painted springers and keystone. 2 large windows,
4 panes wide, with elliptical recesses, on ground floor, and 2 basement lights
under. All windows have rubbed brick arches. Central 6-panel door with scroll
brass knocker in an unusual and very elaborate wood doorcase, with panelled
reveals flanked by quadrant Greek Doric columns with a moulded doorhead broken
forward in curves over reveal and at angles over columns across full width
of door plus columns is an arched fanlight of radiating and curved pattern
with small circles dividing sections, in panelled reveal with reeded edging,
all in an outer case of panelled pilasters, broken entablature with roundel
ornament to frieze and open pediment. One-storey garage to right hand links
adjoining house. Central bay has slight projection. 2 moulded stone steps,
and foot-scraper to left hand.
