Pair of houses. 1880s. Of Bargate rubblestone with decoratively-banded tile-
hung gables; Plain tile roof. 1½ storeys; 4 bays, 1:2:1. Symmetrical facade,
the 2 wide central bays with jettied upper floor under paired gables; the narrow
outer bays recessed, each having a board door with 3 glazed panes within open,
pent-roofed porch. The central bays each have a wooden, 4-light, mullioned and
transomed window with cornice to ground floor; a brick first floor band; and a
similar, corbelled, bay window with tiled roof to first floor. Cusped moulded
bargeboards. Central, ribbed, cross-ridge stack of brick on a stone base.
Returns each have a 1-light window to ground floor; brick jetty to upper floor
which has paired 1-light casements under continuous, bracketed, hipped tile
roof; and oversailing eaves. Included for group value.
