House. Probably late C17, possibly with remains of earlier timber frame; added
to and altered. Timber frame with painted brick infill; plain tile roof. 2
storeys, 2 bays with wing added to rear right and rear outshut added in angle so
formed. Brick plinth. Square Panelled timber frame, members generally of light
scantling. Central board door in C20, open, gabled porch. Two 2-light leaded
casements on each floor, smaller and with diamond leading on first floor. External
stack at right end, corbelled out at first floor level. Rising above ridge on
right side is the tile-hung apex of the gable of the added rear wing. Interior:
the members of the timber frame at the back of the building are of heavier scant-
ling; there are grooves in some of the members to hold former wattles from the
infill panels. Roof has collared queen strut trusses and rafters laid flat.
