House. C17, refronted and much altered early Cl9 and again in C20. Bargate
rubblestone with red brick dressings, the front of red brick in Flemish bond;
plain tile roof. 2 storeys with cellar; 3 bays with rear wings forming rectan-
gular plan. Stepped C20 podium and hipped porch to central doorway which has
C19 4-panel door, the top panels arched and glazed, and 2-pane overlight all in
wooden architrave. Windows are sashes with glazing bars having flat gauged
brick arches and projecting sills. Tops of segmental-arched cellar windows
visible. Hipped roof with 2 tabled stacks to rear. Rear: various Cl9 and C20
windows in brick quoined surrounds; C17-style brick surrounds to former openings
on right; central square projection; paired hipped roofs. Returns: brick quoins
at angles and to former openings, the bricks of C17 type; stepped eaves; C20
conservatory on left return not of special interest. Interior not inspected.
