House, now shop. Probably later C16, altered. Timber frame with painted wattle
and daub infill; late C20 rubblestone to ground floor. Plain tile roof. 2
storeys, 2 bays, the building formerly extending further to left. Late-C20 shop
front with door on canted, recessed, left-hand corner. First floor has narrow
panelling and 2 raking braces, a C20 2-light leaded casement window, and another
on canted right-hand corner. Roof hipped on left. Rear: wall posts arch-braced
to wall plate. Left return: large-scantling arched braces from posts to tie-
beam; mortices in Wll posts from former continuation of framing. Interior:
wall-posts arch-braced to tie beams; central truss has double-curved queen
struts and principal rafters of smaller scantling above the clasped through
purlins; curved wind braces; old rafters, laid flat.
