St Peter and St Paul
Chest tomb. Early C19. Ashlar. In Neo-Classical style. Large base stone with
roll-moulded edge. Tuscan columns, free-standing at corners, all on deep
plinths support entablature with panelled frieze, breaking forward over columns,
and lid with triple roll-moulded edge. Incised panels between columns (2 on
each longer side, 1 on each shorter side) bear commemorative inscriptions to
various children of John Hall and Elizabeth Grinham, the earliest death
occurring in 1810. The monument formerly had a railed enclosure, and was ivy-
covered at time of resurvey.
