13/128 No 66 (La Boulangerie)

House now bakery. Probably late C17 or early C18 of 2 builds; altered. Bargate
rubblestone, galleted to wing and brick, front rendered and scored as ashlar.
Plain tile roofs. 2 storeys with attic, 2 bays with 2-storey single-cell rear
wing; further C20 additions to rear not of special interest. Front: early C20
shop front has central door in moulded architrave flanked by projecting shop
windows which support corniced fascia and canopy box. On 1st floor, 2 sashes
with glazing bars in shallow reveals. 2 small dormers having 2-light casements,
tile-hung cheeks and hipped roofs. Rear: main range has attic gable with
2-light wooden mullioned window with scratch moulding. Wing has tile-hung gable
and half-hipped roof. Interior: chamfered spine-beams, with lambs tongue stops
in front range and cyma stops in rear range which has some evidence of
wattle-and-daub infilled timber-framed structure and roof with queen strut
trusses, staggered butt purlins, large scantling rafters and straight
