House. C17 origins; later additions; extensive alterations and some additions
C19, when converted to cottages, and C20. Brick in Flemish bond, painted and
part stuccoed, incorporating some timber-framing; some rubblestone. Plain tile
roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays with side outshuts, central bay with tile-hung gable
and some timber-framing, left bay and outshut of rubblestone. Windows are C20
diamond-paned casements throughout, on ground floor under segmental arches.
Plinth, partly rubblestone. Central bay is stuccoed with painted timber-framing
and has a 3-light window to each floor. Right bay has board door under shallow
segmental arch on left of 3-light window on each floor; platband. Left bay
formerly mirrored this (without band), but door is now a 2-light window.
Outshuts each have a 2-light window with timber-framing above, that of left out-
shut C20, applied. Stacks to ends of main range and to ridge to left of
centre. Rear: central bay has mid-rail, some studs, straight tension braces,
and other posts painted on; doors to left outshut and right bay; C20 addition on
left not of special interest. Interior not inspected.
