House. C17, altered. Timber-frame with plastered wattle and daub infill to 1st
floor and painted brick infill to ground floor; left return rebuilt 1877 in
Bargate rubblestone with brick dressings. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys, 2 bays.
Timber-framing at front square-panelled with lower tension braces on rendered
plinth; 4-panel door to right bay, on left; windows of 3 lights with c1934
small-pane casements, except for 1st floor left-hand window which is of 2:1
lights with right-hand light of 2 panes. Rear extension not of special
interest. Interior: chamfered spine-beam with lambs tongue stop to right-hand
bay; tie-beams of central and right-hand trusses visible on 1st floor. The
left-hand wall collapsed and was rebuilt in 1877 (J Janaway pers comm).
