Pair of cottages. Late C16-early C17, altered. Timber-frame with painted brick
infill and some rubblestone; plain tile roof. 2 storeys, 2 cells. Each has C19
board door with 4 vertical arched panels to outside of 3-light casement window,
small-paned with the top panes having cusped heads. First floor: timber frame
exposed having square panels, wall posts straight-braced to wall plate, and
windows as below, but shorter. 2 skylights. Large central stack, set forward
of ridge. Interior not inspected but recorded as having reused timbers, arched
upper tension braces in square-panelled left-hand wall (in No 88) the truss
having 3 posts between tie-beam and collar, other trusses with raking queen
struts, clasped through purlins.
