Bowling Green Pavilion
GV II
Bowling Green pavilion. Late C18. Timber-framed with timber cladding on
red brick plinth. Slate monopitch roof. East front of 3 segmental arches
carrying full entablature on slim pilasters. Paired doors in centre. Cill
band across front with panelling below. Weatherboarded to rear. The bowling
green, part of the bailey of Lewes Castle, is one of the oldest in England,
having been in use since about 1700.
