Beauport Home Farm
Nos 2, 3 and 4 [with attacked outbuildin+7
attached outbuildings]
TQ 71 SE 1/581
C1870. Datestone on rear elevation of nos 3 and 4 now obscured by vegetation. Built
as a planned layout to incorporate 3 farm labourer's cottages, barn, stabling and
other outbuildings to the home farm of the now demolished Beaupo+t House. Built
of yellow sandstone ashlar. The central part, stone and 4 is and door cottages,
of 2 storeys with slate roof. 4 casements with stone mullions and door cases with
reeded piers. The garden elevation has 2 bays through both floors and datestone.
1 storey sandstone and slated outbuildings correct to the gabled wings, that to
the north east being a barn and that to the south east another cottage, no 2. Both
have circular openings in the gable end but no 2 has 2 casements and a circular
domed stair turret on the side elevation, included as an interesting Victorian
planned arrangement of farm buildings.
