C16 timber-framed hall-house with the timbering and plaster infilling exposed
in the north wall but refronted with red brick and grey headers on ground
floor and tile-hung above. Steeply-pitched tiled roof, hipped at south
end. Modern casement windows to main front. Modern porch. Large brick
chimney stack. The north gable end is jettied and has a wooden oriel window
on first floor with wooden mullions and transom and diamond-shaped panes,
probably dating from about 1580. The interior contains a rare lap-boarded
oak dais reredos in its original position. The oak tie-beam is ornamented
with mouldings and decorative pendants at either end.
