Cross-in-Hand Windmill

Not now working. Post Mill with a plate inside dated 1855, but the mill
is earlier than this. It has been twice moved and originally stood at Mount
Ephraim, Uckfield, whence it was moved in 1855 to a position near its present
site and again in 1868 to its present site. Roundhouse of 2 storeys, ground
floor tarred brick, above faced with weather-boarding, covered with corrugated
iron. The main portion of the mill is faced with rectangular sheets of metal
on 3 sides and weather-boarding at the back. Sweeps missing. Fantail at
the back attached to the ladder giving entrance to the mill. The machinery
is complete.
