The park formerly belonged to Viscount Gage of Firle Place, a few miles to
the south-east. This was originally a verderer's tower used for signalling
to a similar tower on the hill to the east of Firle Place. Probably C18.
Square tower of 3 storeys and one window. Now tile-hung. Flat roof.
To the east is a later addition also square but of 2 storeys only. Also
one window. Red brick. Hipped slate-roof. Round-headed windows to both
sections.
