The house was occupied from 1925 onwards by Lady Dorothy Wellesley, later
Duchess of Wellington, who was a poetess. She built this temple to commemorate
the other poets such as W B Yeats, Walter de la Mare and Victoria Sackville West
who visited her here. Red brick with stone columns and tiled roof. The names
or initials of the poets are inscribed in stone tablets on the floor.
