2. Barn and cart shed. C18. Timber frame faced with weatherboard on rubble
plinth (north east end) and brick plinth (south west end). Half hipped tiled
roof continued as catslide over shed on south east side. Three bay threshing
barn with central waggon doorways: full height waggon doorway with fragments
of double boarded doorways on north west side: low doorway leading to shed
in opposite wall. Jowelled bay posts, intermediate posts in the side bays
and end walls, intermediate rails between posts except in north west walls
of side bays, stud panels with tension bracing, corner ties to wall plates.
Curved braces to principal beams. Trusses have dwarf queen posts to principal
rafters. Collar roof with clasped through purlins. In north east end wall
a boarded door, and a boarded pitching door above intermediate rail. Five
bay cart shed with wide central bay: timber posts on masonry pedestals, curved
braces to bressumer. One post renewed without pedestal or braces. Adjoining
storage shed not of special interest.
