Horse Gin Base at Lower Farm
Base of horse gin. Probably C18. Circular brick floor about 20 feet in
diameter with central square depression for post to which the horse would have
been tethered. The circle trodden by the horse is a different colour of
brickwork. Included for rarity of horse gins in Sussex and as an interesting
reminder of an obsolete form of power.
