C16, largely rebuilt in early C19, and again in mid C19. Farmhouse. Partly timber-
framed. Nodular flint with galleting: west elevation knapped flint. Pulborough
stone dressings: west elevation has dressings of yellow brick. Hipped slate roof
with overhanging eaves. 1 red brick chimney, probably C16: remainder yellow brick.
2 storeys. Yellow brick modillion eaves cornice on all sides except west.
All that remains from C16 are some internal timbers and floorboards, some internal
wattle-and-daub walls, the red brick chimney breast, and (possibly) the embrasures
of a canted bay window on both storeys of the north elevation. These are ashlar,
and consist of three 4-centred arched lights to the front, and 1 in each flank.
Hollow chamfers to embrasures and arches. At least 3 mason's marks on ground
floor windows, and at least 1 on 1st floor. Iron casements and lead glazing bars
are mid-C19, as is wall which surrounds these windows.
West elevation early C19. 3 double-hung sash windows with glazing bars on 1st
floor and 2 on ground floor, flanking doorway with 2 Tuscan pilasters, entablature
and pediment. Door in plain reveals up 3 limestone steps: 6 fielded panels; top
2 glazed.
East elevation mid C19. But incorporates 4 C18 iron casement windows with lead
glazing bars. 1 extension of 1 storey to east with lean-to slate roof and moulded
eaves cornice of ashlar (possibly a C16 relic). One 6-panelled door (partly glazed)
with mid C19 letter box.
South elevation masked by 1-storey scullery extension. Hipped slate roof. 1
planked door and one 4-light iron casement with diagonal lead glazing bars.
