Barn, C17 and later. Timber framed with breeze block nogging to lower part, weather-
boarding above, plain half-hipped tile roof. Eleven bays. Bays four to seven(reading
from the west) are heavily framed with curved down braces to each post, and arch braces
to each truss. Angle struts to roof. The end frames of this section have tenons for
rails which indicate that they were closed. The remaining bays to the east are more
lightly framed but also have arch braces (probably a C18 extension). The first three
bays have a low, integral floor above which the tier beams are interrupted by queen
posts to allow headroom in the hayloft. Posts in this section have gunstock jowls.
The barn is of unusual length and its uncluttered volume is impressive.
