C18. (?1780). Red brick with some of the brickwork renewed. 3
storeys (and attics added in modern times), 4 very large windows, 4 modern
dormers. Sash windows in reveals in flat arches; slender glazing bars
intact; brick and rubbed brick voussoirs. Narrow fluted frames to ground
floor windows. Iron balconies on first floor. Good doorway with Ionic
columns, pediment and semi-circular fanlight. 6 panel moulded door in
panelled reveals. Very fine staircase with colonnade on first floor
landing and plaster mouldings to ceilings.
Nos 50 to 63 (consec) and The Ship Hotel together with No 5 Guildhall
Street form a group.
