WESTHAMPNETT,
GOODWOOD PARK,
1 and 2 South Lodge

(Formerly listed as Valdoe Lodge)

5.6.58

II

Two small buildings flanking the drive. Probably built by James Wyatt about
1800. One storey and one window each. Faced with squared knapped flints.
Stone pilasters flank each lodge with stone cornice and pediment over.
Stone window surrounds. Glazing bars intact. On the outer side of each
is a wall containing one window which is ramped up to form a pilaster on the
outer edge with cornice and ball cap over. This wall is continued at right
angles to the north to a similar pilaster and cap. In front of the Lodges
are two flint gate piers with ball caps which flank modern iron gates.
