17/20 Bex Mill House
The description shall be amended to read:-

House, formerly Mill House, C18. Built of coursed stone rubble with brick
window dressings, quoins and top of plinth. Half-hipped roof with tall central
brick stack. 2 storeys 5 windows, mainly C20 triple wooden casements but
central 1st floor window is a fixed casement with pegged architrave. Central
C20 Dutch door with gabled tiled hood on wooden piers. Left side has tile
hung gable and C20 window. Right side has weather boarded gable and 1 storey
extension, tile hung with tiled roof. Some gabled C20 extensions to rear.

17/18 Bex Mill House
House. Late C18 altered in later C19, refenestrated in C20. Built of stone rubble
with red brick dressings. Old tiled roof with end brick chimneystacks. 2 storeys.
South or garden front has 2 windows, renewed wooden casements in cambered architraves.
Modillion eaves cornice. Central late C19 gabled brick porch with late C18 original
cambered entrance behind plinth. East elevation has ironstone galleting to stone-
work and 2 12 pane sashes to right hand side and double sash under large cambered
brick arch. Cambered doorcase with later hipped weather porch. North elevation has
galleting to stonework, gable to left and hip to right. Under the hip is a late C18
16 pane sash and 2 later casements to ground floor under cambered heads. Blocked in
cambered opening under gable. West elevation has 1 late C18 12 paned sash to 1st floor
and later extension in stone and brickwork to ground floor. Interior has parlour with
late C18 brick cambered fireplace and lead water pump with wooden case. Cupboard with
plank door and 2 panelled door to brick paved hall. Ledged plank door to ground floor.
1st floor has a ledged plank door and late C18 or early C19 sash window. Roof to
western part of house is late C18 with angled quoin struts, collar beam with through
purlins and ridgepiece and some rough hewn purlins. Eastern part of house has staggered
purlin roof.


17/20 Bex Mill House
House. C18. Stone, set in galletting, with red brick dressings, quoins and
dentilled eaves cornice. Tiled roof. Glazing bars intact. Two storeys. Two
