Haywards Heath
Borde Hill Place

Large house of which the west front was built by Stephen Boord in 1598. Two storeys.
Three windows. Ashlar. Three gables with finials. Tiled roof. Casement windows
with stone mullions. Gabled porch with the date 1598 and the initials S. B. The
return front of the old portion, facing north, has 3 windows. The interior has C16
panelling, fireplaces, staircase and an ornamental plaster ceiling. Large additions
of 1900 circa at the east end.
