L-shaped house, being part of a larger building built by the Pain family. The
east-west wing is a C16 timber-framed building, now fronted with painted brick on
ground floor and tile-hung above. Tiled roof with pantice behind. Casement windows.
Two storeys. Three windows. One window-bay added at west end. Massive red brick
chimney breast at east end with half a crow-stopped gable on north side. North wing
